Minoxidil, Hair Loss & Me: What Actually Helped When My Hair Started Falling Out

Let’s talk about hair.

Not the “good hair day” kind of talk.
But the “Oh no, why is my hair all over the pillow, my brush, my shower drain?” kind of talk.

Through divorce and covid process, I experienced serious hair loss. And I mean massive.
It wasn’t just shedding—it felt like my hair was disappearing. Slowly. Quietly. And it was scary.

I tried everything you can think of. Supplements. Oils. Prayers.
Some helped a little. Most didn’t.

But one thing? Actually made a difference, after sessions of PRP and plasma from my own follicles, It’s called Minoxidil.

💊 So, what is Minoxidil?

Minoxidil used to only come in the form of a topical solution you’d apply directly to your scalp (aka: a sticky mess).

Now, science has upgraded our lives: you can take it in pill form (yes, really!).

It’s originally a medication developed for high blood pressure… and along the way, doctors noticed their patients were growing lush, thick hair.

🧠 But isn’t it something you have to take forever?

Yes. Sort of.
Minoxidil works while you take it. If you stop, the hair growth may stop too.

But hear me out.

We do a thousand things we technically “don’t have to do forever”—
We wear mascara. We get highlights. We exfoliate. We do pilates.
So why not take something that actually helps when we’re struggling?

💁🏻‍♀️ Why I take it (and why I’m telling you)

This isn’t a medical recommendation.
I’m not saying you should take it.
I’m just sharing what worked for me.

Because when I was desperate, I wish someone had just told me the truth.
No fluff. No magic shampoo. Just something that had science and results behind it.

And for me, Minoxidil was that.

🧬 Where I get mine

I get it prescribed from the wonderful team at
👉 La Clinique Monte Carlo

They take your full health picture into account and walk you through everything. Don’t forget to tell them you come from my part.

🪄 My personal tips:

  • Start low. I began with a very low dosage and monitored how I felt.
  • Stick with it. It takes 2 months to see results, so patience is key.
  • Track your progress. Take pictures. Trust me, your future self will thank you.

Hair loss is emotional. It’s personal.
And whether you choose Minoxidil or not, please remember: you’re not alone.

I’m here to share what’s worked for me—with honesty, not pressure.
Because wellness isn’t about perfection. It’s about empowerment and real tools that help.

And sometimes… that tool comes in the form of a tiny little pill.

With love (and stronger roots),
Yana
